Line Reduction

Line Reduction - Dermal Fillers

When we are young the skin springs back to its initial position at rest but as we get older these wrinkles remain on the skin. The wrinkles and folds present at rest are called static wrinkles. This process occurs because natural substances such as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid that provide the skin with structure and volume decrease with age. This together with environmental factors such as exposure to sunlight, smoking and stress contribute to the formation of wrinkles and folds.

There are a variety of dermal fillers that can be injected below the skins surface to literally fill in or plump up the static facial wrinkles and folds and create a natural and more refreshed facial appearance. They can also be used to add definition to lip borders or create a fuller poutier lip.

Beauty & the Cheek Bone

Facial attractiveness is associated with regular facial features, harmony between the nose, chin and malar eminence (or cheek bone), and pronounced convexity and concavity in the facial profile (or a big cheek bone curve.) Aesthetic judgments of facial shape and profile are generally consistent across different racial and ethnic groups, and a prominent cheek bone is universally regarded as a hallmark of female beauty. Thus the importance of high cheekbones to female attractiveness have been substantiated by facial profile studies an both Japanese and Caucasian subjects (male and female). In keeping with this observation, improving cheek bone projection is one of the most frequently performed cosmetic procedures.

Flattening or depression of the cheek bone can be due to disease ,trauma or congenital deformity but it also occurs with age as the bone and skeletal fat is progressively resorbed. Those who benefit from cheek augmentation include people in their late thirties with flattening of the cheek, younger patients who want more pronounced cheekbones, women in their 40s who are contemplating a face lift but not quite ready yet or post facelift patients who need more volume.

Until now thought the numerous techniques for correction of the cheek bone have involved surgery or use of resorbable soft tissue fillers with relatively short lived results. There is now available a new Nasha product that is used to replace lost volume in the cheeks and the chin, thereby creating a more sculpted facial contour. A more natural, youthful look than the tell-tale signs of surgery is plump and hydrated skin, which can only achieved by adding volume. The great advantage is that this procedure is performed via a small incision in the mouth under a dental block, the whole procedure taking about half an hour with very few risks and a result that lasts up to 12 months.

This treatment option is based on the same unique technology - NASHA gel (non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid) -but it has much larger gel particles, which means that it can create greater volume and contour the face effectively to provide reliable instant results. The crystal clear gel is made from a natural substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). HA occurs naturally in our bodies and attracts water to hydrate the cells and fibres of the skin. As we age the natural HA in our skin depletes and becomes less efficient. As a result our skin loses its natural elasticity, volume and buoyancy.

The fight against ageing is a constant battle for many. A new survey reveals that over 90% of Australian women know that hydration is important to fight wrinkles , but how many know of a weapon that aids hydration and smooths out wrinkles? Cosmetic specialist Dr Alison Jamieson says that due to our climate, Australian women commonly suffer from dehydrated and tired-looking skin.

"Hydration is imperative for a fresher, more buoyant appearance and it's fantastic that most women understand this. While the majority of women in this survey know that drinking lots of water (88 percent), avoiding the sun (85 percent) and using a moisturiser (79 percent) are important steps in reducing the signs of ageing, there are other things that can be done. Our skin naturally produces HA, which is responsible for maintaining hydration in our skin. As we age, the natural HA in our skin depletes and becomes less efficient. As a result, our skin loses its natural elasticity, volume and buoyancy,"

HA plays an important role in the skin's ageing process. It creates a healthy environment for the skin by attracting water and influencing the function of other skin constituents such as collagen and elastin. HA's water binding properties create the skin's own hydration system to keep the skin looking plump, smooth and revitalised.

HA fillers provide instant results and lasting benefits through its superior lifting capacity to the skin. It creates a deep hydration reservoir in the tissue under the skin, which means that water bound to HA is available to keep the natural hydration balance. This hydration keeps the tissue beneath the skin fresh, firm and healthy - vital for that radiant glow!

As a non surgical face lift- the treatment has a number of benefits over using fat transfer to provide large volume augmentation - one injection compared to repeated visits to harvest the fat and to achieve optimal treatment effect; minimal downtime; treatment results are predictable and it is a cheaper treatment option because the procedure is less time intensive.

It also has the advantages of having long lasting results, whilst not being a permanent treatment and degrades naturally and safely over time. As beauty trends come and go, a safe non-permanent treatment provides a good option together with flexibility and control, given that our face changes shape with age.

The secret of the stars-since being made available in Europe for two years it has become one the most popular choices with international celebrities in the UK and Europe, keeping them looking toned and rejuvenated at all times.

As with all injectable treatments, there may be some localised bruising and swelling. These side effects are temporary and usually disappear after 48 hours. It is the complete solution for those wishing to hold back the years and revitalise their looks subtly and naturally.

Radiesse®

To growing numbers of physicians, long lasting Radiesse® exemplifies the next generation dermal filler paving the way to the future of facial aesthetics. With its longevity, advanced mechanism of action, volumizing structure and contouring capabilities, Radiesse is ideally positioned to fill the gap between yesterday's short term and permanent fillers. Developed with safety and longevity in mind, Radiesse offers superior versatility for both cosmetic and reconstructive use without surgery.

What sets Radiesse apart from other dermal fillers? The answer is in its durability, endurance, and versatility. Radiesse's unique composition provides immediate visual improvement common with other fillers, along with the benefit of longer-lasting results. This is because Radiesse is made of tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres. Bioform's proprietary microsphere technology is responsible for tissue anchoring as well as preserving the augmentation to the skin, resulting in both immediate and long-term beneficial effects with a single treatment. The microspheres form a scaffold through which your body's own collagen grows, and this produces the desired volume and long-term effect.

Further, because Radiesse is a robust, full-bodied material, it provides a superior level of malleability and finesse for facial contouring applications. Radiesse beautifully contours the Malar, Sub Malar, Nasolabial, Jaw line, Nose, Marionettes, Brow, Infra Orbital Rim, and Chin. Additionally, the product's dense composition translates to added versatility and value, with one syringe of Radiesse giving a better fill and more correction than similarly priced fillers.

What is a 15 Minute Nose Job?

During a 15 minute non-surgical nose job, patients undergo a dermal filler treatment, such as Radiesse or Hyaluronic, and muscle relaxant botulinium toxin. These fillers are injected into the desired areas of the nose to help camouflage abnormalities. Radiesse will last up to two years whereas Hyaluronic will last six months.

The 15 minute nose job is relatively painless and can be completed in one short clinic visit. However it requires a Cosmetic Injecting Artist. It is important to see 'Before and After' Photos of the injectors work.

Unlike a surgical procedure, these fillers allow patients to obtain quick results with little or no healing time. The 15 Nose job is a walk in and walk out procedure. There may be some bruising which may last a few days.

If the patient feels their nose is uneven and some even refer to their nose as bumpy, then a non surgical nose reshaping can help smooth the defects where surgery is not always needed.

By non surgical nose reshaping the patient has the opportunity to see if they like their new look and may later choose the option of surgery.

A 15 minute nose job is an excellent and affordable option for people who:
