New Treatment for Double Chins

By The COZmedics Team - Thursday, 2 March 2017

Submental fullness, or the double chin, is a common concern for both men and women. It is often caused by ageing, weight gain or even genetics. Sometimes, no matter how much you diet or exercise the fullness in this area may not go away - which may make you feel like you look older or heavier than you actually are.

From this month Dr Alison Jamieson is offering the latest injection based treatment for submental fullness at COZmedics Maroochydore and Ascot. Dr Jamieson has attended training in the United States and Sydney during the past few months in preperation for product launch.

How it works

The active ingredient is synthesised deoxycholic acid, which also naturally occurs in the body where it helps to break down dietary fat. When injected below the chin, this reduces fat, resulting in a more defined neck profile and jawline.

This non surgical treatment will usually be completed in about 20 minutes, with treatments spaced by 4-6 weeks. Many people treated experiece visible improvement within 2-4 treatments.
