Pearl Laser Skin Resurfacing
What is laser resurfacing ?
The resurfacing laser slowly removes the surface of the skin layer by layer in a very precise manner. Because there is no bleeding the skin structures can be seen thereby enabling the correct amount of old skin tissue to be removed. New skin is formed from the deeper skin cells lying in the hair follicles. The new skin is fresher, healthier, less blemished and contains more collagen thus smoothing or softening wrinkles.
What is the Pearl ?
Pearl is the “one laser to choose” to renew your skin's surface with quick, visible results. Pearl treats fine lines on the face and neck, uneven skin texture and light & dark spots caused by sun damage. Also patients today don't have the luxury of downtime and they want to see results quickly. Pearl really answers this need.
The Pearl is also the first FDA-cleared laser with a 2790nm wavelength for skin resurfacing including multiple common skin care concerns.
What does it treat ?
The below are all reason are all reasons to consider a laser resurfacing treatment:
- Sun Damaged Skin
- Acne scarring
- Poor skin texture
- Large pores
- Unwanted scars
- Skin blemishes such as age spots
Fine wrinkles and brown blotches respond very well, deeper wrinkles will soften and look much less obvious. The skin texture will be softened and look fresher as it has improved in quality.
How does it work ?
The Pearl laser replaces the entire top sun-damaged layer of skin with new healthy skin. Simultaneously, it sends heat to deeper layers of the skin stimulating new collagen growth, filling out and decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. New collagen growth continues for 4 to 6 weeks post-treatment. The combination of new skin and decreased wrinkles results in a healthier, more youthful appearance.
Unlike “fractional” treatments, Pearl treats the entire face, minimising the number of required treatments. Typically, only 1-2 treatments are necessary to renew your skin.
The procedure usually takes around 30 minutes and are preformed by our highly skilled Doctors and Dermatologists. During a Pearl treatment, the top layer of the skin is treated with pulses of light. A portion of the epidermis (skin surface) is gently removed and a natural protective dressing is formed on the skin's surface.
Most patients feel a series of brief pinches during the treatments however we use a variety of topical and local anaesthetic that will help completely diminish these sensations and ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible. On a pain scale from 1 - 10, most patients report the procedure being a 2 or a 3.
After 3-4 days, the protective dressing formed by the skin itself peels off revealing new, healthy, vibrant skin underneath.
