Fat is a component of our bodies along with water, muscles, bones and organs. Body fat can be essential such as storage fat that can also protect internal organs from injury. However excess storage fat can be unhealthy especially where it is located around the waist. Cellulite can be explained as stubborn fat deposits under the skin in areas like the thighs and buttocks which creates a dimply/lumpy appearance. It usually seen in post-puberty girls and woman and is not necessarily associated with excess weight. There are factors which can make cellulite more visible such as poor diet, hormonal changes and dehydration.
